One factor that distinguishes PIPCo from other independent pharmacy cooperatives is its leadership model. Unlike so many other buying groups, PIPCo is neither owned by a vendor group nor controlled by the interests of its wholesale partner.  Instead, PIPCo is owned and managed exclusively by its independent pharmacy members. 

PIPCo members elect the Board of Directors from the cooperative membership to provide governance while serving a maximum of two three-year terms.  All PIPCo members are eligible to serve on the Board.
